Gallery Views

These gallery views offer a virtual tour of the exhibition. The mounts for each piece were carefully designed to reveal the insides of the garments while respecting the fragile textiles. Where possible the pieces are displayed completely inside out. The garments are accompanied by photographs of the pieces mounted to indicate how they would have appeared when worn.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this on your website. I have always been interested in more “domestic” aspects of history such as the thousands of pins Elizabeth the 1st used to attach sleeves, farthingales etc. I also make some of my own clothes and to see the complicated internal structures, all hand sewn, is fascinating. Thank you Susie B. UK
